FEE2 – Free Early Education for 2year olds

Not all families are eligible for this funding, this is for low income families. Eligibility check must be carried out by the local authority, please ask parents to call the Barnet Funding Team on 020 8359 3052 to carry out the checks. If the family are eligible, they will be given an eligibility letter with a funding reference as proof of entitlement.

Please note the child will be able to access the 15 hours of childcare the term after they turn 2. If a child from out of the borough wants to attend your nursery they will need to apply for the funding through Barnet, regardless of whether they have a Golden Ticket / Terrific Twos Voucher.

FEE3 – Universal 15 hours for 3 &4 Year olds

This is available for all 3 & 4 year olds who live in the United Kingdom, this is universal funding and therefore the parents do not need an eligibility letter. The Kindergarten Administrator will add the child’s details to the portal and the payments will be generated from the Early Years Funding Team.

Please note the FEE3 cannot be accessed until the term after a child turns 3.

30 Hour funding – (3&4 Year olds)

This is made up of the 15 Universal hours and 15 hours of extended childcare, this again is eligibility based and is for working families, the parent/carer will need to apply for the 30 hour funding at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

If they are eligible then they will be given an 11 digit code which they will then give to the Kindergarten Administrator, the parent is responsible for renewing their entitlement to the funds termly, the parent must apply the term before in order to get the funding for the following term, if there are any breaks in entitlement or failures to renew this has to be taken up with the HMRC and not the local authority.
