The staff provide positive, caring relationships based on trust and respect.

Alyth Kindergarten provides:

  • a safe, happy, caring, secure and stimulating environment
  • enables children to develop at their own pace and capabilities to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to society.
  • To help all children to prepare for the future and prepare for their next educational journey

Our Ethos

Our ethos aims to holistically educate each child, which emphasises the importance of each child’s physical, emotional, and psychological well-being, particularly building the child’s emotional and resilience intelligence, which is so vital for academic learning.  All teachers encourage the children to be happy, confident, and sociable.  They help to support each child to feel safe, secure, and motivated by providing positive interactions that support and scaffold each child’s learning during planned, adult and child-initiated play and activities, incorporating progressive Jewish education throughout the year.

Our Teaching

Teachers consider the equipment, the physical environment, and the structure and routines of the day that establish expectations.  Teachers assess what children know and can do, and understand that children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates.  They take into account each child’s interests, stage of development, and dispositions to learn.  Teachers use this information to plan next steps, providing awe and wonder in their learning and development, and monitor their progress to give each child the best possible start in life to achieve and fulfil their potential and to succeed in life. Teachers expand and enrich the children’s experiences and knowledge about the world around them.

Our Curriculum

We value each child for their uniqueness and talents, challenge them to explore and grow, while supporting them to learn through play.  The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.  It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children a broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.   Children will be enriched with knowledge about the world around them, including learning about other faiths and traditions.
