    Baby Den

    10:30-11:30

Babies, toddlers and young children are naturally interested in music. On a Friday morning, wake up with Shoshi to sing songs, be with friends and bop to a Shabbat beat. Our new musical Baby Den, with Rabbi Hannah and Chloe, our Early Years Educator, is designed to help your little one develop creativity, co-ordination and concentration. And above all else it’s FUN! The first half will be singing and the second half gives time for free play and a cup of tea or co4ee for our grown ups.

    Elul Half Hour

    17:45 – 18:15

The return of our popular programme of Cheshbon HaNefesh (“accounting for the soul”) in advance of the High Holy Days. Join us for these brief times of reflection, study and contemplation before each of Alyth’s Shabbat services during Elul. You are welcome to attend every session, or to simply drop in when you wish, and no pre-booking is necessary. We only ask that when you come, you try to join at the start of the session. As we prepare for Rosh Hashanah, which the rabbis understood to be the anniversary of the creation of the world, this year’s Elul Half Hours will take each day of the story of creation and use it as a starting point for study and reflection.

17 August “The earth was unformed and void” Day 1 with Rabbi Hannah

24 August “The earth brought forth trees that grow fruit” Day 3 with Rabbi Colin

31 August “Fill the waters in the seas, and let the birds increase” Day 5 with Rabbi Josh

7 September “God blessed the seventh day and made it holy” Day 7 with Rabbi Hannah

Calling all Uni Students, School Leavers, Interns and Gap Yas...

Rabbi Hannah and Mike Mendoza are hosting a lunch and chat about some of the challenges Jews face in University or the workplace. Whether you’re a uni student, leaving school, on a gap year, or working in the real world you will encounter many different views on Israel, Antisemitism, politics and their relationship with Judaism today. We will have guest student speakers and other representatives to help us build the tools to have these conversations. Please RSVP hannah@alyth.org.uk to let us know if you can join us so we can cater for you. Please also let us know any dietary requirements.

    Erev Shabbat Service

    18:30 – 19:30

All generations of the Alyth community come together every Friday night for our Kabbalat Shabbat (Shabbat Evening) service.  The service begins at 18:30 and is no more than one hour in length.  With participative music, a thoughtful Dvar Torah, time to think and a powerful sense of community, this is one of the best-attended and most rewarding Shabbat services in the whole of London.
