The Alyth Youth Singers

AYS is open to anyone aged 13 to 18 who loves to sing and has been a vibrant part of the Synagogue’s youth activities since 1981 when it was formed.  It is a great opportunity for our young members to make lifelong friends and to engage with their Judaism in a fun and meaningful way.  Singing in a choir helps to promote empathy and teamwork and boosts confidence.

The past eight years have been full of exciting concerts in the UK and trips abroad. The choir has sung in Amsterdam, Berlin, Budapest, Dublin, Israel, New York, Paris and Prague, taking their music to schools, hospitals and nursing homes.

In London they have sung at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Festival Hall, at Trafalgar Square for Simcha on the Square; the Round House; the Victoria and Albert Museum and they regularly sing for Barnet Council’s Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration at The Quadrangle in Hendon.  They sing at the Erev Shabbat service at the synagogue every month and for countless concerts and events throughout the year.

AYS Pop-Ups
