Alyth Film Club: Hill 24 Doesn't answer

It is 1948, the UN is about to establish new lines of demarcation in a truce in the War of Independence. Four members of the new Israeli army are charged to take possession of Hill 24 and hold it overnight. Through flashbacks we learn how each of the four came to be where they are today.
This was the first feature film produced in Israel and was the 1955 Israeli entry into the Cannes Film Festival.
