We are delighted that on Thursday 8 February, the Minister responsible for Organ Donation, Jackie Doyle-Price, will be at Alyth for a special consultation with the Progressive Jewish Community, hosted by Rabbi Josh.
More information on the Minister and the consultation is below.

Organ Donation
Right now 50,000 people are alive thanks to the work of surgeons and the extraordinary selflessness of organ donors. 80 percent of people say they would be willing to donate their organs but only 36 percent register to become an organ donor.
On 12 December the Government launched a consultation into ‘opt-out’ organ donation system, in a bid to save the lives of the 6,500 people currently waiting for a transplant. The consultation offers a historic opportunity for the everyone to have their say on how we can improve the current system, and how it may impact upon people of different faiths and minority backgrounds.
