Alyth Film Club: My Father, my Lord
19:30 – 22:00
The leader of a small ultra-orthodox community in Tel Aviv, Rabbi Avraham Edelman, is absolutely inflexible about doctrine. It has won him respect from his peers, but is beginning to cause conflict with his young son, Menachem, who has a growing fascination with the natural world, and simply can’t understand why his father must shoo a mother bird from her nest, or insist that dogs have no souls. On a summer holiday at the Dead Sea, Avraham’s faith is put to the test.
