Alyth Film Club: Amen

Directed by Costa-Gavras (who has never been afraid of controversy) Amen is based on the real-life figure of Kurt Gerstein, a German chemist and SS officer who worked on the development of Zyklon B gas used in the death camps, a gas he originally created for use on animals. Appalled by what he has witnessed, Gerstein tries to sabotage his own production line while informing the Allies of the atrocities. He enlists the help of a young Jesuit priest.
