Event: 'Multifaith Hustings For The Finchley And Golders Green Consituency'

Open Forums
Date: Wednesday, April 21, 2010 At 8:00:00 Pm BST
Duration: 2 Hours

Alyth is holding the hustings jointly with Churches Together in Golders Green and Finchley and the Shree Swaminarayan Hindu Temple in Golders Green.  We have invited all other local synagogues and other faith groups in the area to join us for the evening.  Among more general questions we will especially encourage the candidates to answer questions concerning faith community issues, local, national and global.  All of the candidates for the Finchley and Golders Green Parliamentary seat, Mike Freer, Donald Lyven, Alison Moore, Laura Edge and Susan Cummins respectively standing for the Conservatives, Greens, Labour, Liberal-Democrats and UKIP are attending.  In 2005 only 1000 votes separated Rudi Vis MP from the next highest polling candidate so ours is an important contest in the 2010 election.

Priority on the evening will be given to questions for the candidates submitted in advance to Gillian Lee in the Synagogue Office (gillian@alyth.org.uk This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or by post to the Synagogue).  Rabbi Mark Goldsmith of Alyth will be chairing the hustings, Prem Patel from the Temple will be introducing the candidates and Rev. Rex Morton, Vicar of St Albans, Golders Green will be ensuring fair play. There is no cost for admission and great Alyth hospitality is assured!
