Rabbi Josh Levy has been a member of the Alyth Rabbinic Team since November 2008.
Josh was formerly a Rabbi at West London Synagogue, where he had responsibility for their education programmes. Prior to ordination Josh was Head of the Religion School at WLS and before studying for the rabbinate he was Director of Education at Finchley Reform Synagogue. He is especially thrilled to have been part of the innovations in education that we have introduced at Alyth over the last few years.
His area of special interest is conversion and status, having written his rabbinic thesis on Tractate Gerim of the Babylonian Talmud, which deals with laws of converts and conversion. He is always very happy to speak with those wishing to find out more about becoming Jewish.
Rabbi Josh lives in Finchley with his wife Jude, son Jonah and daughter Noa. He was brought up in Manchester where his parents are active members of Cheshire Reform Synagogue.
Josh is currently a Governor of the Leo Baeck College, where he is also a member of faculty.
