Ruach Budapest Trip

From 29 October – 1 November, members of our Year 8 Ruach class took off to Budapest for a fun filled weekend of touring, t’fillah and much much more!

Alongside Sam & Mike from the Youth & Ed. Hub, and Jacob Brunner we had the privilege of being steered around the beautiful historic city by Agi and Andras, two incredibly knowledgeable, understanding and caring guides, who quickly became a part of our group.

From the moment we landed, we were whisked off to venture the stunning sites by night, followed by an incredible private boat tour and dinner on the River Danube. Between delving into the cultural “delicacies” and charging around Indoor Markets, we still found time to explore the Jewish quarter and its stunning array of synagogues, learn about the Nazi occupation of Hungary and the Shoah memorial sites, take part in a Reform Kabbalat Shabbat at Bet Orim, joining the community for dinner, and lead a musical Shacharit at the ICI.

For our last day we heading to monument park, to discover more about the communist influences in Hungary after WWII and then took some much needed down time at the brilliant AquaWorld before heading to the airport.

After an eerie foggy landing back at Heathrow, we hopped aboard the coach to our final destination – Alyth and Home!

Take a look at some of the great group photos we captured over the trip!
