Dame Tessa Jowell welcomed at Alyth

Dame Tessa Jowell joined congregants at Alyth for tea and scones and attended our Kabbalat Shabbat service.  As one of the Labour candidates striving to be the next mayor of London, Dame Tessa spent the early part of the evening chatting to RSY-Netzer madrichim (pictured) who had been running their joint day camp at Alyth during the week for over 80 participants.  Sally Patterson, one of the hard working and exhausted madrichim, said that “Dame Tessa was interested to hear about the range of skills that young people develop through being given responsibility and leadership opportunities in our youth movements”.

Rabbi Josh Levy welcomed Dame Tessa and her Alyth host, Laura Marks OBE to our Kabbalat Shabbat service.  After the service, Dame Tessa was scheduled to visit a 24 hour daycare centre, a night time bus depot and to meet with cleaners doing night shifts in offices across London.
